THE ROCKET GOLD STAR is a Japanese award-winning illustrator, graphic designer, and book author. He was born in Toyama and raised in Kobe. He later studied illustration at Osaka University of Arts.

He is well-known for his “Spot the Difference” games, a type of visual puzzle that blends naturally into Japanese daily life. His artwork can be found all across Japan — in magazines, cartoons, newspapers, on TV and social media, and even in restaurants, shopping malls, parks, schools, public buses, and airplanes.

He designs a wide range of characters, from humans and animals to sea creatures and aliens. His characters are loved and easily remembered by people of all ages for being unique, adorable, playful, colorful, and simple.
